Caring in Community is a small group of health professionals committed to helping others. In a time of increasing complexity, rapid change and broken relationships we want to stand up, slow down, hold onto good old values while adapting to the change all around us. Understanding the modern sciences of chaos and complexity will help.
Our mission is to serve others through theory and practice. Our site shows some of our research and the community projects through which we put chaos and complexity science to work, healing individuals and the complex communities in which we live. We balance democratic and cooperative ideals with practical experience tested in the incubator of Caring in Community.
Like many, we believe that money is like air - you may need to breathe it to live, but there is a whole lot more to life than breathing or money. Money is also about as ephemeral as air, so do not hold onto it too tightly. It would be an effort in futility. You might even lose your soul in the process. This is why we are nonprofit. A nonprofit can keep the dream of ideals alive.
Cottage_Med, our biggest community project (a worldwide project), is free. Until today, it has grown without selling it to anyone. Your donations, though, are vital to keep our projects alive and growing.
